Roof insulation in Cyprus, with nanotechnology coatings
In Cyprus this job is usually called μόνωση ταράτσας — often typed in Latin letters as monosi taratsas, or simply roof monosi. Whatever you call it, a Cypriot roof takes two kinds of punishment at once: summer sun that heats the slab and drives up air-conditioning bills, and winter rain that finds every hairline crack.
That is why most roof jobs here need both halves — thermal insulation (θερμομόνωση) to keep the heat out, and waterproofing (υγρομόνωση, or στεγανοποίηση) to keep the water out.

The two halves of the job
NanoPhos’s roof coatings do both jobs in one finish: they reflect the sun's heat instead of storing it in the slab, and they form an elastic, waterproof membrane.
Stop the building baking
SurfaPaint Hellas Cool White combines high thermal reflectance and emittance with sealing, giving the roof "cool" properties. SurfaPaint ThermoDry Elastomeric Roof Hybrid is a thermal protective elastomeric paint for roofs, horizontal and sloping exterior surfaces.
Stop the water getting in
Hellas Cool White is fibre reinforced and seals even against ponding water; Roof Hybrid stays elastic across a wide range of temperatures (elasticity above 350%). For a solvent-free, two-component system there is SurfaDur R ThermoDry, a polyaspartic, energy-efficient roof coating.

What does roof insulation cost in Cyprus?
It depends on the square metres, the condition of the roof, and whether you need thermal insulation, waterproofing, or both. We supply the NanoPhos materials and give you an exact coverage calculation per square metre. Send us your roof size for a quote.
What is the difference between thermal insulation and waterproofing?
Thermal insulation (θερμομόνωση) reduces heat transfer so the building stays cooler and cooling costs drop. Waterproofing (υγρομόνωση or στεγανοποίηση) stops rainwater getting through the slab. Most roofs in Cyprus need both.

How long does roof insulation last?
NanoPhos materials are UV and weather resistant and designed to last for years when applied to a properly prepared surface. Preparation — cleaning the roof and repairing cracks — largely determines how long the result lasts.
Can it be applied over existing insulation?
Often yes, provided the existing layer is sound, clean and well bonded. Roofs with blistered or failing old membrane need that removed or patched first. Send us photos and we will tell you.
