In Cyprus this job is usually called μόνωση ταράτσας — often typed in Latin letters as monosi taratsas, or simply roof monosi. Whatever you call it, a Cypriot roof takes two kinds of punishment at once: summer sun that heats the slab and drives up air-conditioning bills, and winter rain that finds every hairline crack.
That is why most roof jobs here need both halves — thermal insulation (θερμομόνωση) to keep the heat out, and waterproofing (υγρομόνωση, or στεγανοποίηση) to keep the water out.

Indoors, SurfaPaint ThermoDry Interior adds thermoprotective, antifungal coverage and eliminates thermal bridges on walls.
Stop the water getting in
SurfaPaint AquaX forms an elastomeric, seamless waterproof membrane that bridges cracks and moves with the slab. It is UV and weather resistant, made specifically for roofs and terraces, and stays breathable so trapped moisture can escape.
For expansion joints and structural details, SurfaSeal PU gives a permanently flexible, high-elongation seal.

What does roof insulation cost in Cyprus?

What is the difference between thermal insulation and waterproofing?
Thermal insulation (θερμομόνωση) reduces heat transfer so the building stays cooler and cooling costs drop. Waterproofing (υγρομόνωση or στεγανοποίηση) stops rainwater getting through the slab. Most roofs in Cyprus need both.

How long does roof insulation last?
NanoPhos materials are UV and weather resistant and designed to last for years when applied to a properly prepared surface. Preparation — cleaning the roof and repairing cracks — largely determines how long the result lasts.
Can it be applied over existing insulation?
Often yes, provided the existing layer is sound, clean and well bonded. Roofs with blistered or failing old membrane need that removed or patched first. Send us photos and we will tell you.
